Growing up obsessed with hockey, writing novels was the furthest thing from my mind. I was driven, and convinced, that I was going to be an NHL star. Turns out, that's a pretty tough to do. Who knew?
A love of art led me to the University of Guelph and a degree in Fine Art, with a major in Art History and a minor in Studio Art. Drawing and painting are my favorite disciplines and I still paint whenever I get a chance. (which at this point and time, is not much!)
After obtaining my Bachelor of education in 2003, I've gone on to teach a wide range of age groups: Grade 3, 4, 5,6, 7 and 8. My experiences as a teacher have transformed my writing skills and helped me to tap into my imagination. So, to the students I've taught, am teaching, and will teach in the future, Thank you for being my inspiration. The Empire City would not have been written without you.
I am married to an incredible woman, who without her undying love and support, I would not be the man I am today. you make me a better person. I have three wonderful children; 11, 9 and 4 who are the absolute centre of my universe. I write for them, and I am able to pursue this dream without obstacles, because of them.
